Research has demonstrated that Animal Assisted Therapy can often provide a way to reach individuals with Autism that traditional therapies don’t. For some with Autism, animals can provide a window of relating that can then be translated into other relationships.

Meet Bracken Kinch a 3 year old Lab cross, and a regular visitor to Freedom Care locations. She gives the Service Users a sense of well-being and ‘normality’.

She has a very calm and loving temperament and is referred to as our tactile stress relief officer! She loves going for a brisk walk so she also helps us all with keeping fit and healthy. She is also great to have around in the time of crisis as she helps to keep some of our service users calm.
