At Freedom Care we work very closely with adults diagnosed with autism. We can provide not only residential and respite care for autism but also respite care for children with autism. Our homes are registered from 18 years old, but a variation with CQC can easily be made if the individual was any younger than this.

With all our experience in delivering high quality health care to those with autism we have compiled a list of facts, stats and myths to shed a little bit more light on this lifelong disability.

  • Autism is much more common than many people think. There are over half a million people in the UK with autism – that’s around 1 in 1002. If you include their families, autism touches the lives of over two million people every day.
  • Autism is a hidden disability – you can’t always tell if someone has it
  • While autism is incurable, the right support at the right time can make an enormous difference to people’s lives
  • Nearly two-thirds of adults with autism in England do not have enough support to meet their
  • needs
  • At least one in three adults with autism are experiencing severe mental health difficulties due to a lack of support
  • Only 15% of adults with autism in the UK are in full-time paid employment
  • 61% of those out of work say they want to work

Some of those facts don’t make for happy reading which is why here at Freedom Care we do everything we can to provide support and care for those diagnosed with autism. For more information about our services head over to our homepage here.
