Coming soon to Freedom Care is our new venture “Freedom Forest”, an outdoor educational woodland adventure. We have a number of staff members working towards an OCN Level 3 Forest School Practitioner qualification.

We will be running a series of courses aimed at: 

• Adults with Special needs
• Youth Offending & N.E.E.Ts 
• Probation
• Youth groups  
• Children’s parties  
• Corporate events

Freedom Forest will be helping individuals explore themselves and the environment through interaction with nature. Each person attending the forest school is viewed individually and will have a record of their progress recorded in their own unique learning journey.

Some of the activities involved are:

•    Shelter building
•    Using tools
•    Making tools
•    Cooking
•    fire making
•    Identification of flora and fauna
•    Woodland management
•    Sustainability
•    Woodland craft activities
•    Games
•    Story telling
•    Camping

The Forest School aims to develop:

•  Self Awareness
•  Self Regulation
•  Intrinsic motivation
•  Empathy
•  Good social communication skills
•  Independence
•  A positive mental attitude,
•  Self-esteem and confidence
