At Freedom Care we provide a range of specialist care services including mental health care for those suffering with conditions such as ADHD, autism, aspergers, learning disabilities and personalities disorders.

We are not just care providers, we see ourselves as our service users extended families who are on hand to provide high quality care 24/7.

One of the more common areas we assist with is social personality disorder; something that affects 1 in 20 people in England. Last year we took a look at the overview of personality disorders and today were going to take a closer look at one of the more upsetting types of personality disorder; narcissistic.

Typical traits
Long terms suffers may believe that there are special reasons that make them different, better or more deserving than others, but because their self-esteem is rather fragile, they rely on others to recognise their worth and needs.

However, other people often ignore their special needs and don’t give them what they feel they deserve, so they then feel upset, and resent other people’s successes. Because of this, they put their own needs above other people’s, and demand others do too. People are likely to see them as selfish and ‘above themselves’.

If you would like more information about this, or any other personality disorder, or advice on how to manage care for a sufferer, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
